2008 will be a year to remember! It has been a good year all in all. The best part of it was Jayson and Michelle's marriage. We are all healthy and happy. Logan is doing great in school! We have a lot to be thankful for. We are truly Blessed.
All the crew! Mom and Dad came for a bit. Lon acting goofy (I guess a goof will act that way LOL Love ya baby) We had a good time! This is our first Christmas with Michelle...we are sure proud to have her in our family!
Christmas was great! We all celebrated at our house and I had a great time! OK... I ate like a pig. Now!!! I have said it. It sure was fun too. The kids got us a fire pit for Christmas and I can't wait to get it put together and get a fire in it! We'll roast marshmallows and eat some more!!! Yes there is a theme to this post. LOL Hope you all had a great day too!!!
Hey I want to go with Santa! Winter (if you can call what we have in Texas winter LOL) has just started and I want it to go away. Blue skies and sunshine...now that is what I am talking about! Update (7:30 PM)....OK I'm happy now! It's 68 degrees. Oh what a difference a few hours makes! About 40 degrees difference! Welcome to Texas. If you don't like the weather just stick around a few hours and it will change. LOL
Here is my table decorated for Christmas. I love cardinals for Christmas. The pictures are blurry, but that is nothing new. LOL Oh well I'm trying. We are making Cinnamon candy and the house smells so good!
This is the farm house that my great grandfather and grandfather were raised in. We use it for our family get togethers. We are so blessed to have this old home place and all our heritage right there. Mom, Dad, Logan, Michelle & Jayson and my cousin Brandi (can you tell which are the newly weds?)
Me, Grandma, and my cousin Shelee (I see her hiding that cookie behind her back)

I love this door. Look at the pretty glass. I think it is the original. A dirt dobber has been on it I see.
I got some pretty good stuff this morning. This is a shelf I got and didn't have a spot that it would fit so I turned it upside down and made a plate holder out of it for the kitchen. Turned out pretty good. Now I'd better get busy doing something worth while...like cleaning this house!
My Mom gave me her drapes she wasn't using any longer. Here is the before and after in the dining room and the after in the bedroom. All I had in the bedroom before was the blinds on the french doors. I still need to find some new wall hangings to go with them but you will get the idea. The one in the dining room I had to raise a little so it does hang better than in the pic. Thanks Mom!
I put these chef pictures up the other night, I don't think I like them. So I replaced it with this pear and fig picture, but I have to find something to go along with it. How about a stick of dynamite? Anyone have one? Just kidding!!! Don't send the feds out!!! Unless they have a degree in decorating that is. LOL
I got this lamp at a garage sale many months ago for $1.00. It has been sitting in the garage collecting dust. I had an idea...Left over fabric from the curtains and a little black spray paint and here it is. I've always seen them recover lamp shades on the make over shows, but I never thought I could do it, but I did! You might need to click on it so you can see it better. I had better go see what else I can get into. I like this being off from work business! LOL
I was thinking about Jayson and Michelle's wedding and I really didn't post many pictures of it. The cake was so pretty I thought I'd show you. The pictures really don't do it justice. There is a crystal heart with their names and wedding date on top. So pretty.
I was just sitting here thinking...hummm four more days and I have 9 days off! Yahoo! The only downer is hubby will be working most of it. But still Yeehawww! I would love to do some work on the house, but by the time it gets here I'll probably just veg out here in blog world.

I was going through some old stuff the other day and came across some old curtains I had and thought I'd like to hang those again in the breakfast nook. The walls were painted red when I had them in there before. Hey, it's like a mini redo without the cost. Now, if I could just replace the dining room chairs and paint the table black. Oh well, one thing at a time.
Well I decided to remodel my blog again. I love the one Jayson did for me...just too "springish" for this time of year. It was so easy I couldn't believe it. I'm still working on a new header. That's going to take a while.
I live in East Texas. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 37 years and have 2 grown sons, 2 wonderful daughters-in-law and 3 precious grands.
We have a sweet dog named Sammy.
Thank you God, for I am blessed!
