I got some pretty good stuff this morning. This is a shelf I got and didn't have a spot that it would fit so I turned it upside down and made a plate holder out of it for the kitchen. Turned out pretty good. Now I'd better get busy doing something worth while...like cleaning this house!
My Mom gave me her drapes she wasn't using any longer. Here is the before and after in the dining room and the after in the bedroom. All I had in the bedroom before was the blinds on the french doors. I still need to find some new wall hangings to go with them but you will get the idea. The one in the dining room I had to raise a little so it does hang better than in the pic. Thanks Mom!
I put these chef pictures up the other night, I don't think I like them. So I replaced it with this pear and fig picture, but I have to find something to go along with it. How about a stick of dynamite? Anyone have one? Just kidding!!! Don't send the feds out!!! Unless they have a degree in decorating that is. LOL
I got this lamp at a garage sale many months ago for $1.00. It has been sitting in the garage collecting dust. I had an idea...Left over fabric from the curtains and a little black spray paint and here it is. I've always seen them recover lamp shades on the make over shows, but I never thought I could do it, but I did! You might need to click on it so you can see it better. I had better go see what else I can get into. I like this being off from work business! LOL
I was thinking about Jayson and Michelle's wedding and I really didn't post many pictures of it. The cake was so pretty I thought I'd show you. The pictures really don't do it justice. There is a crystal heart with their names and wedding date on top. So pretty.
I was just sitting here thinking...hummm four more days and I have 9 days off! Yahoo! The only downer is hubby will be working most of it. But still Yeehawww! I would love to do some work on the house, but by the time it gets here I'll probably just veg out here in blog world.

I was going through some old stuff the other day and came across some old curtains I had and thought I'd like to hang those again in the breakfast nook. The walls were painted red when I had them in there before. Hey, it's like a mini redo without the cost. Now, if I could just replace the dining room chairs and paint the table black. Oh well, one thing at a time.
Well I decided to remodel my blog again. I love the one Jayson did for me...just too "springish" for this time of year. It was so easy I couldn't believe it. I'm still working on a new header. That's going to take a while.
OK, we have had fox, bobcats, deer, armadillos, coyote, opossums (just to name a few) in our back yard and oh it has been so neat to live in the middle of town and have these critters to visit in our own back yard, but I draw the line with skunks! Yes, we had a skunk right up close to the porch tonight. I can see it now, local woman and dog get sprayed by skunk. LOL Pepe Le Pew you are so cute, but please go home to the woods!
My sister Tam sent this to me. Thought I'd share with you.
Passing the Purple Hat to You IN honor of women's history month and in memory of Erma Bombeck who lost her fight with cancer. Here is an 'angel' sent to watch over you. Pass this on to five women that you want watched over. If you don't know five women to pass this on to, one will do just fine.
IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck (written after she found out she was dying from cancer).
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, 'Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.' There would have been more 'I love you's' More 'I'm sorry's.'
But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute look at it and really see it . . live it and never give it back. STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!
Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.
A man and his wife were having an argument who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said " You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee." The husband said " you are in charge of all the cooking around here, and you should do it because that is your job, and I just can't wait for my coffee. Wife replies, " No, you should do it, and besides, it's in the Bible that man should do the coffee." Husband replies, "I can't believe that. Show me." So she fetched the Bible, opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that indeed read "HEBREWS."
I live in East Texas. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 37 years and have 2 grown sons, 2 wonderful daughters-in-law and 3 precious grands.
We have a sweet dog named Sammy.
Thank you God, for I am blessed!
